Tata Tiscon 500 D:
New generation high strength ribbed reinforcement bar by Tata TISCON, the only rebar in India which has acquired the 'Superbrand' status.
A new grade of steel-500D- Different from ordinary bars in its method of manufacturing and consequently, in its combination of properties.
As part of the chemistry, any rebar necessarily contains two harmful impurities, Sulphur (S) and Phosphorus (P) in varying levels, which reduce the strength of steel in extreme hot and cold conditions. Therefore lower these values the better
Tata TISCON 500D has less of these harmful impurities. The combined level of Sulphur and Phosphorus is restricted to a maximum of 0.075% in Tata TISCON Fe500D.
Tata Tiscon 500 D Specification:
A superior and controlled steel making practice can reduce the levels of these impurities. The last revision (2008) in Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS),factors in this aspect & includes a new superior category of rebar called "D" This new category specifies steel with minimum of harmful impurities- S & P. Such low S&P levels, as specified in the 500-D specifications of BIS, are almost impossible to be achieved through normal scrap & induction furnace route. However, at Tata Steel, due to state of the art steel making facilities as well as the stringent quality controls at every step from mines to the mills, 100% of the rebars are now produced in compliance with the 500 D grade specifications

While rest of the TMT steel industry was busy meeting the basic demands of the construction industry, TATA TISCON took a step further in understanding the customer?s needs and their conveniences. TATA TISCON came to know that Construction and Infrastructure Sectors have been using the conventional Rebar Cutting & Bending methods for a long time. While doing so they always faced various problems as regards to the Consistency & Accuracy in Quality, Project Completion Time and ultimately and most importantly the Cost of the Construction. There certainly needed to be a solution ??. but none was available in India, though such practices were prevalent from many years in the western world.
Construction bars come in a standard length of 40 ft. Every design, every structure is different and hence requires bars of varying sizes and shapes. Most contractors remedy this by cutting and bending the bars at the site itself, using unscientific methods.
